Darryl works across the entire age and ability range of pupils with severe and profound and multiple learning difficulties.

In 2005, Darryl took on the headship of The Ridgeway School in Farnham Surrey, a Special School for children aged between 2 and 19 years with severe and profound learning difficulties. The school is characterised by high expectations and has built a reputation for innovative practise….
There Darryl developed and implemented a new approach to the delivery of education for pupils with profound complex needs and coupled with an ongoing investment and focus on the development of all staff, this has had a significant impact on learning outcomes. Darryl has been recognised as an NLE, (National Leader of Education) and The Ridgeway as a National Support School since 2014. As an NLE, Darryl has been active in supporting SEND and Disadvantaged pupils in the mainstream Primary and Secondary sectors, and is currently leading a Resilience initiative across the Multi Academy Trust which the School was a founding member of in 2017.
